I recently heard that the trailing edge wing spar
on a two place Challenger (with lots of hours) would
have elongated holes. I pulled the wings off my 2 place
trainer and sure enough, they were oblong. A quick check
before pulling the wings would be on preflight grab the spar close
to the airframe and move up and down.
If bad then you will see the movement. We had quite a few
recommendations on a fix, but what I did was order a solid
aluminum shaft to fit inside and cut it 2" long and drilled pilot
holes in the center.
I then drilled the holes
to the bolt size and bevelled the holes so that the bolts would
start easier.
Personally I feel that Challenger should have a
fix incorporated with the kit. It should also be in every
preflight for 2 place Challengers.

P.S. The Challenger is a few years old and was
Chuch Hamilton's first plane. The entire airframe has been gone
over and updated. In the past 2 years 10 people have used the
plane to learn to fly.
