Next to me, two pilots, are looking at the little safety card from the barf-bag
pocket, and they are LAUGHING at it. I ask them what is
so funny, and they point to the diagram of the plane floating perkily on top
of the water, like a giant inflatable pool toy, while the passengers alertly
rescue themselves.
"You mean the plane won't do that?" I ask.
"Listen," one of them says. "This plane floats about as well as a boat
flies."
AIRCRAFT FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS
NEW! Lift reserve indicator, . This instrumentation can take place of a
basic stall warning indicator, but is much more useful. This gauge
accurately measures the angle of attack, indicating to the pilot how close
he truly is to the critical angle of attack, which is where the wing will
stall.
With any airplane, the indicated airspeed at which your aircraft will
stall, changes depending upon the load and bank angle. But the angle of
attack at which you stall is always the same.
Most pilots will find the
analog display more intuitive than the light bar that other competitive
instruments use, and easier to read in bright sunlight. 2 9/16" diameter
with red, white and green arcs, kit includes instrument, fittings, air line,
mounting plate and adjustable probe. LRI,
