The Astra 503 was introduced by Stellar Aircraft at AirVenture 2003.
According to the factory the reason for the introduction of a new Trike
was because Pegasus Aircraft, which they had formally handled, had
withdrawn their product from the American market for liability reasons.
The two seat Astra Trike is being offered as a ready to fly unit with
either the Rotax 503, 50 hp engine with the C reduction drive or the 60 hp
HKS 4 stroke engine. The trikes come with extra wide seats, front and rear
suspension using coil springs, and have an easy folding mast design.
Two wings are being offered, a 15 square meter, double surface high
performance wing and a cross country wing.
The craft when equipped with the Rotax 503 comes with a three blade
Warp Drive prop while the HKS units will feature the PowerFin prop.
A unique feature of the Astra Trike series is that stainless steel is
used throughout the assembly.
