Sportflight of Barrie Ontario Canada showed off their brand new line of
light Sport Aircraft at Airventure. One of the two new Sportstar aircraft
which arrived in Barrie at Sportflight was unloaded from the shipping
container and packed in a trailer for the trip to Airventure.

The Sportstar is a side by side seating two place built in the Czech
Republic. The aircraft currently meets Canada's Advanced ultralight
program and will be certified in the U.S. under the new Sport Plane
Category.
The plane comes factory built, and is designed for non-aerobatic VFR
flight. The fuselage is "is of semi-monocoque structure." The wings and
tail sections are all metal. There is a folding wing option available for
ease of storage and transport
The control system is standard stick and rudder with dual sticks, ailerons
and flaps. The plane comes standard with brakes, instruments, two colour
paint, transponder, radio, tinted glass, 35 lbs storage area, landing
headlight, fibreglass wing tips, and anti-collision and positioning
lights.
Options include folding wings, long range tanks, and parachute.
Currently Sportflight has two units in stock, with a third in transit.
Normal delivery is 10 -12 weeks.
Power is supplied by the Rotax 912 series of engines, which pushes the
Sportstar along at a cruise of 115 knots, stall 39 knots, and climb of
1200 feet per minute.
