To extend the life of your rubber sockets: Before installing new
sockets, wipe mounting flanges on engine, inside of clamps and outside of
sockets with acetone. Install sockets, clamps and carburetors. Lightly wipe
the exposed rubber surfaces with silicone-dielectric grease.

When purchasing new carburetor sockets be sure
that the clamps on the new carbs are #53 #48, the use of improper
clamps can cause the sockets to fail.
