BRS ballistic parachute save
#101 |
Doug Prather was flying with a student, each in their own
glider. After watching his solo student land poorly, Doug attempted to
race to the landing field to lend assistance. His Sensor 510C hang
glider failed structurally.
"I had been doing some wingovers and enjoying
myself. My student flew well. But when he landed hard, I accelerated to
help him out. I was probably got to 60 or 70 mph when the wing spar
failed. I deployed immediately. My student never even saw me under
canopy, but it worked perfectly. So glad I had a BRS!"
Result: Pilot Survived!
