We run Rotax Liquid cooled aircraft engine workshops
on an ongoing basis as student enrollment dictates.
During the workshop engine owners will have the opportunity
to perform all repairs that would normally take place during a regular 300
hour Rotax engine maintenance cycle.
Participants may bring in
their own engines, or watch and participate while Dave Loveman of L'il
Hustler ultralight aviation, North Americas oldest Rotax engine service
outlet teaches and demonstrates the procedures.
Those bringing their own engines will also have to bring their own
mechanics tools - all special tools will be available for use.
The workshops run over two days. The morning sessions run from
9 a.m. until noon and the afternoon sessions from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
During the morning session on Saturday owners will be instructed on
trouble shooting their engines, then move on to how to properly
"autopsy" their engines prior to and during disassembly.
Participants will have to pre-register and prepay as class sizes
are limited. If an owner is bringing his or her own engine they will have
to notify us ahead of time so that we can have the necessary parts
available to complete the engine rebuild.
Any engines that parts are not available for at the
workshop, or that cannot be completed for whatever reason, will be
finished off by us with no charge for labour on
engines going through the complete 300 hour suggested maintenance schedule
as outlined by Rotax, when the parts
are purchased from us.
